Portraits
This week we attempted to do our first portraits using our Wacom tablets, I used an older photo from my father of his mother, my nonna, Carmela.
I had a lot of fun recreating this image and hope to only make my skills stronger and stronger moving forward! We started with picking a picture and creating just an outline of the image:
After, we hid the image and added in background colour with some light tonal values:
Continuing to add more and more tonal values

At this point, I started to add more details such as a few major hilites as well as filling in the rest of the painting!
Finally, I made my darks much darker and blended my hilites into the piece to give it a more realistic look and feel to the piece!
Overall for my first attempt, I am happy with this portrait and only hope I can strengthen my skills as I continue my education and design career!
